Allegations: The client was charged in Monroe County with possession of three forged checks and three separate dates. Due to the client’s criminal history, he was facing a potential life sentence as a persistent felony offender.
Defense: We successfully argued that the prosecution had committed numerous discovery violations and had not proven the defendant knew the checks were forged.
Result: The judge dismissed two of the counts during the trial based on lack of evidence and the jury found the defendant NOT GUILTY of the remaining count.
